This permanent part-time position plays a key role in delivering relationship-based care, focusing on the emotional and spiritual needs of clients, their families, and staff.

The Role

You will utilise your pastoral expertise to coach and support staff and volunteers in providing holistic care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide supportive care and coaching to residents, relevant families, and staff.
  • Be the point of contact for internal and external support/referral services.
  • Act as a role model for staff and advocate for our Mission, Motivation, and Values, and its Christian ethos.
  • Share pastoral expertise and coach staff to support the spiritual needs of residents.
  • Conduct assessments of resident/family needs and goals using established tools.
  • Develop a comprehensive care plan, working with residential staff to ensure client/family needs and goals are acknowledged.
  • Liaise with managers, case managers, and attend staff meetings as required.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated understanding and experience of supporting individuals living with dementia and their carers.
  • A strong personal and active Christian faith and church involvement.
  • Qualifications and experience in Theology/Pastoral Care.
  • Demonstrated capacity to care for and enhance the wellbeing of those in need.
  • Highly developed communication skills, including listening, compassion, and empathy.
  • Experience leading and supporting a team.
  • Strong administrative and computer skills.
