About the Role
The Chief Engineer is a key position within SeaLink South Australia's Marine Operations crew.
The primary function of this role is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of company vessel engines and mechanical systems.
This includes working as part of a team to maintain excellence in safety and reliability at all times.
The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing engineers' work practices, standards, and performance, as well as assisting with deck loading operations.
A sound knowledge of the vessels is essential to all aspects of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe and efficient operation of vessel engines and mechanical systems
- Oversee engineers' work practices, standards, and performance
- Assist with deck loading operations
- Maintain a high level of work ethics and professionalism
Requirements
- Marine Engineer Class 3 certification
- Current driver's license
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Confined Spaces qualification
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations

- Advanced computer literacy, verbal, and written communication skills
