Job Summary

About this opportunity:

We are seeking an individual with a strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures. This person will operate and monitor wastewater treatment equipment and processes, perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on treatment equipment, collect and analyse water samples to monitor treatment effectiveness, ensure the appropriate storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals in line with safety and environmental regulations, and maintain accurate records of treatment processes, equipment maintenance, and water quality testing.

The ideal candidate will have technical knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, equipment, and chemicals, analytical skills to conduct water quality tests and interpret results, mechanical skills for performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on treatment equipment, regulatory knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations, problem-solving skills to troubleshoot operational issues, and attention to detail for accuracy in record-keeping and compliance.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with post-secondary education in environmental science or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Operating and monitoring wastewater treatment equipment and processes.
  • Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on treatment equipment.
