Accelerate Renewable Capacity Investment

Australia's electricity system is undergoing significant transformation driven by the need to reach net zero emissions by 2050. This shift requires innovative approaches to managing systems and markets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead delivery of components of our work collaborating with colleagues from across departments and external stakeholders
  • Use qualitative and quantitative analysis to map policy opportunities and risks in the energy system
  • Manage relationships with advisers including market modelling advisers and commercial consultants
  • Write clear and succinct analysis and policy advice

The CIS branch is responsible for delivering on the Australian Government's electricity policy commitments including providing policy support to transition Australia's economy to net-zero emissions by 2050 while maintaining energy security reliability and affordability.

As a member of the Targets and Modelling team you will be responsible for developing the framework for setting capacity targets for CIS tenders managing electricity market modelling and other analysis of energy sector transformation pathways and economic analysis including financial modelling of scheme costs and economic incentives of underwriting contracts.
