Nonprofit Commercial Underwriting Specialist

Job Overview
This role involves developing and managing a portfolio of commercial lines business, analyzing exposures, and determining coverages and premiums for Nonprofit Human Service Organizations and Education Institutions.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze business opportunities, pricing them profitably with prescriptive terms and conditions of coverage.
- Examine inspection reports, location risk, financial information, and other available tools to identify new or unresolved concerns.
- Communicate with Risk Control for inspections, follow-ups, and service needs for insureds.
- Drive corrective action or remediation strategies on renewal accounts.
- Evaluate referrals in a timely manner, escalating those that need additional review or approval by higher-level underwriters.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of underwriting all commercial lines (Commercial Property, General Liability, Professional Liability, Worker's Compensation, Crime, Commercial Auto, Umbrella, etc).
- Prefer Nonprofit Human Services and Education underwriting experience.
- Excellent communication skills in writing and verbally.
- Ability to analyze and make decisions in a timely manner.
- CPCU or other industry equivalent desired.
