Defence Technology Specialist

We are seeking experienced professionals to contribute to the deployment of secure government systems in support of Defence, specifically supporting the Mission Planning Environment (MPE) program.



The selected candidate will play a key role in ensuring mission systems meet the operational needs of users. This includes applying skills in the development, integration, and deployment of security-accredited ICT systems, working closely with technical colleagues and Defence stakeholders to provide IT technical and administration support for Mission Planning Systems, and supporting the sustainment, security, and evolution of ICT systems across fixed and deployed environments.



About The Role

As a Defence Technology Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting development, introduction to service, sustainment, and enhancement of mission planning software and hardware.
  • Maintenance and configuration of physical servers, networking hardware, and mission planning laptops.
  • Installing, configuring, testing, and deploying software.
  • Providing support on Defence strategic networks.
  • Assisting with security accreditation activities for Mission Planning Systems.
  • Identifying and managing technical risks, while contributing to program documentation and reporting.


Key Skills and Qualifications

We are interested in hearing from candidates with experience in Defence ICT environments and skills in areas such as:

  • MS Windows platforms (including imaging, security, and server environments).
  • Administration of client operating systems (Windows 10–11).
  • Software scripting, configuration management, and Office applications.
  • Understanding of Defence ICT security accreditation requirements.
