Mechanical Fitter Apprentice Position

We are seeking motivated and proactive individuals to join our team as a Mechanical Fitter Apprentice. This role offers the opportunity to develop skills in mechanical maintenance and repair, while working on a variety of infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining and repairing water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, dams, reservoirs, and pipeline systems
  • Assisting with valves, actuators, and hydraulic components, as well as other mechanical equipment
  • Working on community assets including airports, sporting fields, event centres, pools, buildings, waste management facilities, and emergency services facilities
  • Installing and maintaining chemical dosing equipment and mechanical installations
Requirements:
  • A willingness to learn on the job and ask questions to improve knowledge and skills
  • An interest in maintaining and improving community facilities and infrastructure
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with colleagues and supervisors
  • A safety-conscious attitude, committed to working safely for yourself and others
  • The ability to commit to study requirements and complete training in a timely and organized way
  • A current driver's license (red P's or more)
  • Compliance with uniform and PPE requirements
