The RoleThe Payroll Professional manages employee salary records, assists in day-to-day operations of payroll functions, conducts end-to-end processing, and stays updated on award and legislative changes. The professional operates in accordance with organisational policies and is responsible for assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintaining salary records and master files for payroll
- Making recommendations on system improvements relating to payroll functions and processes
- Accurate and timely processing of salary outcomes
- Full end-to-end payroll processing for two pay cycles (fortnightly and monthly)
- Responding to salary-related questions from employees, coordination/service managers, P&C, and external sources
- Supporting change initiatives to improve payroll outcomes and decrease query volumes
- Diploma or certificate in payroll administration or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of key payroll principles and processes, deep knowledge of Australian employment law and industrial relations
- Meticulous attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry
- Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision and use professional judgment where appropriate
- High level computer skills, including experience using payroll software
- Current National Police Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Evidence of current work rights in Australia
