The Role

The Payroll Professional manages employee salary records, assists in day-to-day operations of payroll functions, conducts end-to-end processing, and stays updated on award and legislative changes. The professional operates in accordance with organisational policies and is responsible for assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining salary records and master files for payroll
  • Making recommendations on system improvements relating to payroll functions and processes
  • Accurate and timely processing of salary outcomes
  • Full end-to-end payroll processing for two pay cycles (fortnightly and monthly)
  • Responding to salary-related questions from employees, coordination/service managers, P&C, and external sources
  • Supporting change initiatives to improve payroll outcomes and decrease query volumes
Requirements:
  • Diploma or certificate in payroll administration or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of key payroll principles and processes, deep knowledge of Australian employment law and industrial relations
  • Meticulous attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry
  • Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision and use professional judgment where appropriate
  • High level computer skills, including experience using payroll software
