Chief Software Architect Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Software Architect to lead our distributed team of software engineers in delivering Linux kernels for the Ubuntu Linux distribution.

  • The ideal candidate will take ownership of specific aspects of Ubuntu Linux, including working with silicon or cloud partners, ensuring Ubuntu Linux runs on diverse hardware platforms, defining and executing quality control standards, and mitigating security threats.
  • They will lead, challenge, and develop strong engineers, positively influence the culture, facilitate technical delivery, and work with their team on strategy and execution.
  • Additionally, the successful candidate will coordinate between multiple teams, manage projects, and drive process automation initiatives.

Key Requirements

  • Substantial programming experience is essential.
  • Significant experience with operating system kernel internals is required.
  • The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience managing or leading a team.
  • Ability to coordinate between multiple teams is also crucial.
