Bureau Veritas Australia’s Marine and Offshore division is seeking Regulatory Specialists to contribute to the growth of our Seaworthiness and Regulatory Advisory business.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the drafting of policy, regulations, and procedures for seaworthiness.
- Support the development of guidance material and acceptable means of compliance for the seaworthiness regulations and framework.
- Assist the regulated community with the development of compliance submissions, permits and approvals on behalf of the seaworthiness regulator.
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Coordinate with the Senior Engineer to ensure alignment with regulatory standards and project objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop engineering solutions.
- Review engineering documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in meetings with stakeholders and provide engineering insights as needed.
- Support the implementation of engineering policies and procedures to enhance project efficiency.
- Contribute to the development of technical reports and documentation.
- Assist in troubleshooting technical issues and recommending corrective actions to resolve them.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, developments, and emerging technologies to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor qualification in marine engineering or related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in the maritime engineering or regulatory field.
- Australian Government Security clearance.
- Familiarity with work health and safety and environmental compliance.
- Knowledge of Australian and International maritime conventions and laws, and/or the Defence regulatory environment.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
