About this Role

Job Description

We seek an ambitious Senior Casualty Treaty Underwriter to contribute significantly to local and global business objectives. You will be responsible for underwriting renewal and new profitable casualty treaty business, mainly originating out of the Australia & New Zealand markets.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Underwriting – Core and Transactions: Analyze treaty submissions and extract key information for underwriting purposes.
  2. Evaluates original insurance wordings and Treaty contracts for coverage aspects and compliance with requirements.
  3. Uses appropriate underwriting tools and pricing models/methodologies.
  4. Collaborate with other business units, such as Actuarial, Claims and Legal teams.
  5. Follows best practice, and complies with underwriting guidelines and renewal messages.
  6. Supports the Desk Head in monitoring the risk landscape and the impact on strategy.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong experience in casualty underwriting of pricing, portfolio analysis, treaty structures and contracts.
  • Experience of 8+ years in treaty underwriting preferred.
  • High level client management ability, negotiation skills, influencing capability, and proven relationship building skills.
  • Analytical proficiency (Actuarial experience viewed positively).
  • Solid knowledge of CTP and Workers Compensation schemes.
