  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Enforce fisheries and maritime safety laws by conducting inspections and investigations to protect fisheries habitats and ensure small craft safety.

  • Provide compliance and extension services to fishers, small craft users, and the community, promoting knowledge and understanding of fisheries and boating safety requirements.

  • Stay up-to-date with State and Commonwealth Fisheries and maritime safety legislation, applying this knowledge in daily work.

  • Maintain effective relationships with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues, providing informed advice and escalating complex issues as needed.

  • Promote fisheries and marine-related compliance through community engagement and education at public events.

  • Manage departmental resources and expenses according to Financial Delegations and Authorisations.

  • Collaborate with like-minded professionals as part of a cohesive team.

  • Perform routine maintenance of equipment and materials to ensure they remain operational.
