Job Title

As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the daily lives of young people in our care.

The Assistant House Supervisor position involves overseeing the daily care of young people provided by residential care workers within their allocated residential care home during times when the House Supervisor is not rostered to work or is not present in the home.

You will be responsible for reporting to the House Supervisor or Residential Care Coordinator in their absence and working closely with the team to ensure the smooth operation of the residential care program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily care of young people in a therapeutic environment
  • Work collaboratively with residential care workers to achieve positive outcomes
  • Develop and implement behavioral management programs for children and adolescents with challenging behaviors
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in residential care, particularly in a therapeutic environment
  • Relevant diploma with substantial experience, including four (4) additional mandatory competencies (Residential Care Skillset/Top Up Units)
  • Awareness of Aboriginal culture and values, as well as an understanding of current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families
