Disability Support Specialist

This is a part-time and casual position that requires an individual with excellent interpersonal skills to provide support services to clients with disabilities.

Preferably, you will be studying Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Psychology or related fields and have a keen interest in this industry, particularly working with children with disability including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Your key responsibilities will include liaising with clients' parents and therapists to implement therapy strategies throughout the week as directed by the child's therapists. This may occur at the client's home, daycare or therapy settings.

The role requires a high level of independence and the ability to problem-solve in various situations.

Shifts will be 3.5 hours each, and you must commit to at least 3 shifts per week. Shift times are usually between 2pm-5:30pm.

Previous experience working or interacting with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.

Transportation to the St George area is required, as well as living nearby suburbs such as Hurstville, Kogarah or Rockdale.
