Technical Advisor - Configuration Management Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Technical Advisor with expertise in Configuration Management to join our dynamic team. This role involves managing the configuration of complex Armoured Fighting Vehicles (AFVs) and associated systems, including combat platforms, electronic systems, subsystems, and support equipment.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to provide guidance on configuration management principles, ensuring the integrity, traceability, and control of engineering information and hardware/software baselines in accordance with Defence acquisition frameworks.

The successful candidate will have experience in Configuration Management within Defence or similar industries, knowledge of Defence CM standards, and proficiency in CM software like Teamcenter, Windchill, or IBM Rational.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide advice on Configuration Management (CM) for Armoured Fighting Vehicles and related Defence systems.
  2. Develop and manage CM plans, tools, and processes aligned with Defence standards.
  3. Maintain records for Configuration Items and support Change Control Boards.
  4. Work closely with teams, contractors, and government to ensure compliance and system assurance.
  5. Support engineering reviews, audits, and certification with accurate CM documentation.
Requirements
  • Experience in Configuration Management within Defence or similar industries.
  • Knowledge of Defence CM standards (ASDEFCON, ISO 10007, MIL-STD-973).
  • Skilled with CM software like Teamcenter, Windchill, or IBM Rational.
  • Able to read and manage technical drawings and system specs.
  • Understanding of Defence acquisition and lifecycle processes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent documentation skills.
