About the Role

The baggage handling system is a critical component of airport operations, ensuring a seamless passenger experience and maintaining the reputation of airports and airlines.

As a Mechanical Technician at Daifuku Oceania, you will play a vital role in the maintenance and upkeep of our equipment, ensuring its effective ongoing operations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing diagnostic testing and troubleshooting malfunctions, faults, and breakdowns
  • Developing and implementing electrical maintenance plans to prevent costly equipment breakdowns
  • Repairing and maintaining baggage handling systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Documenting processes and maintaining mechanical service records
  • Optimizing mechanical efficiency by adjusting machinery and equipment settings
  • Providing proactive day-to-day monitoring and reporting on system performance and operational activities
  • Assisting and supporting team technicians with operational duties for smooth handover of shifts
  • Maintaining a tidy work environment and adhering to industry regulations

Your Skills & Experience

  • A mechanical trade qualification
  • Knowledge and understanding of system fall back procedures
  • A broad knowledge of Baggage Handling Systems and Passenger Boarding Bridges
  • Knowledge on Fault diagnostics
  • Demonstrated skills in carrying out various mechanical tasks, including renewals, repairs, and maintenance
  • Previous experience in working to various schedules that include preventative maintenance
  • Ability to work a rotating shift
  • Current full driver's license
