We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our Melbourne team, driving technological innovation for a global impact.

You'll be joining an exciting inflection point as we modernize from a battle-tested monolith to a composable, domain-driven architecture using AWS Lambda and AI-augmented development with tools like Claude Code and Windsurf, all to create a world-class fundraising and community platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team to deliver cutting-edge technology, empowering life-saving health programs globally.
  • Modernize the platform from a monolithic structure to a scalable, business-oriented architecture, leveraging AWS Lambda and AI-driven tools.
  • Contribute to pioneering AI-augmented development, shaping how AI is integrated into development processes.
  • Mentor developers through pair programming, thoughtful code reviews, and fostering psychological safety to drive innovation.
  • Navigate peak campaign seasons (October–December) with scale challenges and high-traffic demands, ensuring a seamless donor experience.
  • Collaborate with Product and Marketing to translate vision into technically sound donor experiences and payments architecture, balancing near-term delivery with long-term sustainability.
  • Help migrate from monolithic systems to business services and influence architectural decisions.
  • Work in a hybrid environment with a mix of office days and focused remote days.
Technical Requirements and Qualifications
  • 8+ years software development experience with 3+ years in senior/lead roles.
  • 5+ years' experience across full stack including NodeJS / React / JavaScript / TypeScript.
  • Proven experience with high-traffic web platforms and large-scale, high-availability systems; strong background in AWS cloud platform and infrastructure as code.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems using AWS Lambda.
  • Deep understanding of monitoring, observability, and incident response for production systems.
  • Strong understanding of automated pipelines, CI/CD, and AWS CodePipeline.
  • Knowledge of payment processing systems and PCI DSS compliance.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tooling.
  • Strong understanding of CSS frameworks (Bootstrap, SASS, LESS).
  • HTTP and REST or GraphQL; strong understanding of testing frameworks; experience with agile development processes; excellent communication skills; track record of leading teams through critical incidents.
