Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rig Operations Manager to join our team at Helmerich & Payne. As a key member of our drilling operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our drilling rigs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of drilling personnel to achieve project objectives
  • Develop and implement drilling plans and strategies to optimize well construction and minimize costs
  • Monitor and control drilling operations to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members
Requirements
  • 5 years of experience in drilling operations, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of success in drilling operations, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and cost control
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements
  • Knowledge of drilling operations, including well construction, drilling fluids, and well control
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a focus on collaboration and communication
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with FlexRig and FlexRig technology
  • Knowledge of Australian drilling regulations and standards
  • Ability to work effectively in an indigenous environment
  • COACH/CARE training completion
