Job Overview

The Utilities Design Manager will play a pivotal role in the management and delivery of critical infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities include oversight of utilities, management of relationships with utility companies, and optimization of time and cost positions.

Main Responsibilities
  • Management and Oversight of Utilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate utilities strategies; provide support for utility-related issues; conduct reviews on design submissions; coordinate designers and engineers to manage the utility scope; manage site investigations and early works packages; identify opportunities for improvement; escalate issues to senior management to mitigate risks; prepare and present regular reports on utilities risks.
  • Risk Mitigation and Strategy: Lead risk management; ensure timely resolution and efficient delivery; identify significant risks and work with the team to establish mitigation measures; collaborate with senior management to identify key risks and develop mitigating strategies.
  • Collaboration, Support & Business Development: Provide tender support and coordination; build and maintain relationships with clients, utility owners, and authorities; work with the wider team through open communication; foster client relationships to identify opportunities and support winning new work.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Proven experience in project management, particularly in utilities infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of utility management and construction processes.
