The Senior Health and Safety Professional is responsible for managing health and safety risks, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage workplace and project site health and safety risks to ensure compliance with laws, regulations and company policies.
  • Develop and implement safety solutions to mitigate risks and improve overall safety performance.
  • Conduct regular inspections, audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure activities align with safety standards.
  • Lead incident investigations, identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide expert safety advice and coaching to employees, contractors and management to foster a strong safety culture.
  • Deliver safety training, inductions and toolbox talks to enhance safety awareness across all levels of the business.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with our client's health and safety standards and address any deficiencies.
  • Maintain and improve the WHS system, integrating safety processes into daily business operations.
  • Support emergency response planning and crisis management to ensure all sites are well-prepared.
  • Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to proactively resolve safety concerns and improve worksite conditions.
Measurables
  • Provide mentoring, coaching and training to employees, contractors and senior management, achieving a measurable improvement in HSE awareness and compliance.
  • Ensure the WHS system is fully integrated with business systems, maintaining accurate records and conducting regular reviews for compliance.
  • Implement robust risk management practices to identify and mitigate emerging HSE threats and address operational gaps.
  • Manage contractors to ensure full compliance with HSE systems, delivering consistent performance improvements.
  • Develop and enhance HSE assurance programs to improve operational compliance and embed lessons learned from inspections, audits and incident investigations.
