The role of the Court Officer is pivotal within the Court Support Team.
- They play a key part in delivering high-quality support services to Judges, Registrars, and their staff, as well as the general public and legal practitioners.
Major Responsibilities:
- Setting up courtrooms and preparing materials for hearings
- Operating courtroom technology, including video conferencing equipment
- Swearing in witnesses and handing up documents
Key Competencies:
- Courtesy and Client Service: delivering exceptional service to clients and colleagues
- Professionalism: maintaining a respectful and courteous demeanor at all times
- Problem Solving: identifying and resolving issues in a timely and effective manner
- Personal Presentation: presenting a neat and well-groomed appearance suitable for the Court
Requirements:
- A strong understanding of client service standards and the ability to work towards achieving them
- Demonstrating an awareness of diverse tasks and courtroom activities
- Identifying opportunities for improvement and proposing solutions
