Job Overview
- As a Defence Systems Specialist, you will provide strategic direction to the Joint Software Support Facility team at Melbourne Airport.
- Effectively manage allocated resources, set work priorities, oversee workflows and ensure data management system redundancy.
- Lead and provide expertise for strategies that optimise NAS performance and safety.
- Evaluate business outcomes to ensure continuous improvement in delivery of adaptation data.
- Represent Defence on specific issues at departmental, interdepartmental and industry forums associated with adaptation data.
Team Information
The team of adaptation data and technical system specialists are located in the Joint Software Support Facility at Melbourne Airport. They manage the integrity and configuration of the Civil and Military Air Traffic System (CMATS) to optimise its performance and safety by applying advanced analytical techniques, development, configuration and adaptation.
Requirements
- Current or recent experience in maintaining or operating computer-based air traffic control systems such as ADATS or EUROCAT.
- Highly developed technical, analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated commitment to quality systems processes.
- Extensive aviation experience and comprehensive technical knowledge of ATC data production and testing systems.
- Ability to interpret and process highly complex geographical and non-geographical aeronautical data and documentation using relevant operational aviation experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ATM system data files, relational databases and experience manipulating them.
- Understanding of the Defence environment and ability to build and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
