Lead Engineer and Asset Manager

This is a leadership role that oversees the delivery of high-quality infrastructure projects and asset management outcomes. Reporting to the Director Infrastructure & Environmental Sustainability, you will lead a team to deliver on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.

As an asset owner for multiple asset classes, you will ensure compliance with relevant asset management policies, strategies, and plans. You will also manage the development and implementation of Asset Management Systems and Maintenance Management Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor the Engineering Services team to deliver infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
  • Manage complex civil infrastructure designs and provide authoritative technical advice to stakeholders and the community.
  • Deliver effective project management including procurement, contract administration, and budget control.
  • Engage in high-level consultation and liaison with residents, government agencies, contractors, and elected officials.
  • Drive innovation and sustainability in infrastructure planning and delivery.

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering and Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status with Engineers Australia (mandatory).
  • Experience in civil and building design, asset management, and delivery of civil works programs.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing professional engineering teams.
  • Extensive project management experience with proven budgetary and contractual oversight.
  • High-level communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with diverse stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills. They will be able to motivate and inspire their team to achieve high-quality results.
