Senior Accounting Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounting Professional to join our Finance Shared Services team at Woolworths Group.
About the RoleThis is a permanent opportunity based in Gepps Cross, Adelaide. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives, engaging with business partners, and mentoring team members.
Your primary focus will be on monitoring employee-related cost lines, reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, managing queries from business partners, and supporting the wider EE&I team in driving continuous improvements across all aspects of the team's performance.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct holistic P&L and Balance Sheet reviews and analysis for specific areas.
- Prepare Financial Statement Analysis notes for the Woolworths Financial Statements at HY and FY.
- Review reconciliations and ensure they are prepared in accordance with the Balance Sheet Guidance Note.
- Communicate risks and opportunities to stakeholders.
- Drive and deliver continuous improvement initiatives to add value for business partners.
- Deliver insightful analysis and recommendations to business partners.
- Maintain an effective understanding of business and reporting considerations.
- Maintain stakeholder relationships.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A finance-related degree with CA or CPA qualification.
- 5+ years relevant accounting experience, preferably in retail or large corporate environments.
- Strong experience using financial systems in a commercial environment, including Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, macros), Google Suite, SAP, BPC, GCP.
- The ability to communicate complex financial information effectively.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to synthesise large amounts of data from various sources.
- Strong presentation and storyboarding skills.
