Job Title

We are seeking a skilled Tiler to join our team. This is a full-time role with a competitive salary and excellent benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review detailed plans and specifications to understand the tiling project's requirements.
  • Measure and mark surfaces to lay out work accurately, ensuring tile arrangement fits space perfectly.
  • Prepare walls and floors for tiling by removing old tiles, grout, and adhesive.
  • Fill holes and cracks to ensure smooth, clean base for new tiles.
  • Spread adhesive evenly on prepared surfaces using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Place tiles on adhesive-covered surfaces, carefully aligning them according to layout plan.
  • Position tiles correctly, ensuring they are level and evenly spaced.
  • Cut and shape tiles as needed to fit edges, corners, and around obstacles like fittings and pipes.
  • Pay attention to alignment and spacing of tiles.
  • Use spacers to maintain uniform gaps between tiles.
  • Fill spaces between tiles with grout, selecting right colour and type for project.
  • Clean tiled surface thoroughly after grout has set.
  • Remove excess grout from tile surface without damaging grout lines.
  • Lay floors of granolithic, terrazzo, cement, or similar composition, requiring specific skills and knowledge of materials.
  • Lay coloured tiles in patterns to create intricate mosaics as per design specifications.
  • Check quality of work at various stages of project, ensuring installation meets design specifications and industry standards.
  • Provide clients with advice on tile selection, design options, and maintenance.
  • Offer guidance on how to maintain and care for tiles post-installation.
  • Provide repair services if necessary, ensuring longevity and beauty of tiled surfaces.
Requirements
  • Certificate III trade qualification in tiling or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year hands-on experience in wall and floor tiling, demonstrating range of skills from basic tile installation to complex decorative work.
  • Minimum 1 year proven experience with different types of tiles (ceramic, porcelain, stone, mosaic) and tiling techniques.
  • At least 1 year experience gained within professional capacity.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Skilled in use of tiling tools and equipment, including tile cutters, trowels, and levelling devices.
  • Understanding of waterproofing methods and materials.
  • Familiarity with building codes and safety regulations related to tiling and construction work.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Have at least 2 contactable work referees.
