About the Opportunity


We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Kindergarten Teacher to join our team at Northern Grampians Shire Council. As a Kindergarten Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing a high-quality, developmentally appropriate educational program for preschool children.



Key Responsibilities



  • Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate education program that meets the individual needs of children, in accordance with the National and Victorian Early Years Learning Framework.
  • Ensure the kindergarten environment promotes the National and Victorian Early Years Learning Framework and the five National and Victorian Early Years Learning Framework Outcomes.
  • Maintain a healthy, safe, and welcoming environment that is inclusive of children and their families.
  • Develop, record, and maintain specific objectives for individual children based on written observation across all aspects of each child's development, and link these objectives into the curriculum.
  • Respect the confidentiality of information relating to families and children, and comply with all relevant Council privacy policies and Education and Care Services National Regulations (2012).


Qualifications and Experience



  • Bachelor in Early Childhood Education and current registration with Victorian Institute of Teaching, or the ability to obtain.
  • Required to hold and maintain a current Level 2 First Aid qualification, including CPR, Anaphylaxis Management, and Asthma Management Training.


Selection Criteria



  • A sound understanding and knowledge of early childhood development and education.
  • Ability to develop, document, and implement a developmentally appropriate education program for preschool children with parental involvement.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with carers, other staff, and professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to present written documentation in a clear, concise, and methodical manner.
  • A commitment to maintaining a thorough understanding of the Frameworks and to use them in all planning and implementation.

Salary Information


The estimated annual salary for this position is $66,526.67, pro rata, plus superannuation.
