At the forefront of Australia’s infectious disease research, we are seeking a highly skilled Executive Officer to provide strategic support and coordination for our nation-wide centre.

About the Role

This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with our centre’s directorate, providing high-level advice and support in managing and administering our state-of-the-art facility. As a critical member of the management team, you will be responsible for coordinating reporting, strategic communications, and operational planning to drive our centre's mission.

We are looking for an individual who is detail-oriented, professional, and confident in operating in ambiguous situations. You will need to possess excellent relationship-building skills to collaborate effectively with diverse scientific, operational, and administrative teams.

  • Provide expert advice and support to our centre’s directorate on stakeholder interactions and external engagement.
  • Independently formulate, coordinate & prepare responses to internal and external information requests and reporting requirements.
  • Develop effective solutions to complex issues, make sound decisions under pressure, and analyse complex or ambiguous problems.
  • Coordinate internal and external reporting requirements, planning activities, and leadership meetings.
  • Lead or manage sensitive projects aligned with our research priorities and organisational strategy.

With your strong organisational skills, you will be able to independently manage competing demands, establish priorities, and meet deadlines. Your ability to work effectively in a dynamic executive team environment and collaborate widely both internally and externally will be essential.
