Role Summary

The Medical Officer Emergency Department Pool role offers an exciting opportunity to join the emergency department as a Medical Officer/Registrar at Flinders Medical Centre.

Delivering critical care in one of Adelaide's busiest tertiary hospitals, you will treat over 65,000 emergency presentations annually. You will work with a team of professionals to advance your career and make a real difference in emergency medicine.

About the Opportunity

This role involves performing emergency medical assessment and treatment for patients attending the emergency department. You will work in consultation with consultants, senior registrars, and nursing and allied health professionals.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining high standards of patient care for all ED patients
  • Keeping accurate, readily accessible records of patient care
  • Performing emergency and routine care procedures under supervision
  • Participating in departmental teaching programs
  • Commencing discharge planning and ensuring effective communication with patients' carers and general practitioners
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent qualification
  • Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner
  • Effective communication skills
  • Clinical experience in Emergency Medicine
  • Ability to recognize personal and professional limitations
