Risk and Assurance Manager Job Description

A permanent opportunity has become available in our Risk & Assurance team within Bupa Government Contracts. This includes the Bupa ADF Health Services contract, which provides integrated health support to 85,000 Australian Defence Force personnel, and Bupa Medical Visa Services, which provides visa and migration medical services on behalf of the Department of Home Affairs.



Key Responsibilities

Risk Management

The Risk and Assurance Manager will lead the activities supporting the effective implementation of Risk Management Frameworks and related policies and governance activities for government contracts. Key accountabilities include:




  • Supporting government contracts with the delivery of governance, risk, quality, health & safety, and compliance frameworks consistent with Bupa A&NZ frameworks and contract requirements.
  • Assisting management and stakeholders to understand the risks they face in pursuing government contract objectives and ensuring a risk and governance culture aligned with Bupa values.
  • Management of the risk and control framework and provision of insight into the risk profile, control environment, and issue management.
  • Planning and leading processes for the identification, reporting, and escalation of risk-related matters to government contracts leadership teams and the HS Risk and Governance forums.


Health and Safety

The Risk and Assurance Manager will oversee and manage internal WHS reporting to Bupa stakeholders, collate data, create and populate various reporting for HS Risk and Assurance forums, and report to Joint Health Command and equivalent forums.



Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:




  • 7+ years of experience in implementing risk and control frameworks and successful WHS processes and policies.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in risk management or equivalent.
  • Professional qualifications in WHS management will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in ISO 45001 or Australian Standard AS 4801 Occupational Health and Safety Management System Accreditation.
  • WHS management experience in a large, geographically dispersed organization, preferably in a clinical/health environment.
  • Prior experience with the use of GRC systems.
  • A proven track record of effective stakeholder management and engagement, including skilled facilitation of risk workshops with senior leadership.
  • Sound analytical skills, with the ability to extract insights from information and provide an informed opinion on health & safety risks and the adequacy of controls.
  • Well-organized, flexible, and adaptable, with the ability to work under significant pressure and intensity.
  • Proficient in the ability to influence, negotiate, convince, and persuade through highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and practice of leadership-driven culture and building collaborative working environments.
  • This is a Security-Cleared Position, requiring Australian citizenship and eligibility to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance.
