About the Role

Fitzroy Mining Operations Pty is seeking a highly skilled Technical Services Manager to join our team at the Ironbark No.1 Underground Coal Mine. As a key member of our Site Leadership Team, you will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplined team of Surveyors, Geologists, Mining Engineers, Gas Drainage and Ventilation SMEs in delivering site-based technical services support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the team in delivering short, medium, and long-term mine planning and design activities, including the development of plans to maximize mine operations.
  • Ensure the team is responsible for surveying, ventilation, and gas drainage, as well as geological deliverables, with a focus on optimization and process improvements.
  • Manage contractors, including an in-depth understanding of key elements of contractor management.
  • Deliver detailed budgeting processes and liaise with regulatory and industry bodies.
  • Bring an engaging leadership style and a passion for driving the team to deliver successful outcomes.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in mining engineering, geosciences, or a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in managing technical leadership positions in an underground coal mining environment in Queensland and/or New South Wales.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a focus on driving team success.
  • Ability to manage contractors and develop detailed budgeting processes.
  • Confidence in liaising with regulatory and industry bodies.
