Job Title: Cyber Security Incident ResponderKey Responsibilities
  • Manage and resolve critical, high and medium cyber security incidents.
  • Draft incident reports and communicate incident summaries to senior leadership and end users.
  • Develop and maintain playbooks for different types of cyber security incidents using automation to reduce mean time to resolution (MTTR).
  • Automate repetitive tasks using automation platforms and/or programming languages such as Python or C++.
  • Optimize existing security controls to refine alerts and reduce false positives.
  • Gather open source and commercial threat intelligence and perform hunting across the enterprise for undetected threats.
  • Support legal and regulatory teams with technical expertise on cyber incidents requiring regulatory compliance.
  • Evaluate new technologies and drive proof-of-concepts (POCs) for new security products.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • At least 5 years experience in Cyber Security specifically in Incident Response with working knowledge of 24/7 SOC teams.
  • Strong understanding of NIST, CSF, MITRE and other leading cyber security frameworks.
  • Programming skills in languages like Python or C++ are required for automating incident response tasks and developing custom security tools.
  • Ability to write and tune detection rules in various security platforms.
  • Hands-on experience dealing with major security incidents is essential.
  • Automation skills using automation platforms or programming languages are a must.
  • Experience with malware analysis and digital forensics is an advantage.
  • Certification in Cyber Security, Forensics and Incident Response (e.g., CISSP, ECSA, GISP, GCIH, GCFE, GCFA) is beneficial but not necessary.
