**Key Responsibilities**
- Merchant Acquiring Solutions:
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of merchant acquiring processes, including transaction flows, settlement, and reconciliation.
- Design and architect end-to-end solutions for merchant onboarding, payment processing, and settlement.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Scheme Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with payment schemes (such as Visa, Mastercard, and Amex) and industry standards (PCI DSS, EMV).
- Stay informed about changes in regulations and adapt the architecture accordingly.
- Payment Service Integration:
- Work closely with development teams to integrate payment gateways, APIs, and third-party services.
- Optimize payment flows for efficiency and reliability.
- EFTPOS Device Integration:
- Architect solutions for integrating EFTPOS devices with merchant systems.
- Address compatibility, security, and performance considerations.
- Multi-Currency Acquiring:
- Design systems that support multi-currency transactions for international merchants.
- Consider exchange rates, currency conversion, and settlement processes.
- Fraud Detection:
- Collaborate with security teams to implement fraud detection mechanisms.
- Leverage machine learning models, rule-based systems, and anomaly detection to identify suspicious activities.
**Requirements**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience (typically 8+ years) in merchant acquiring solutions within a banking or financial services environment.
- Strong knowledge of payment protocols (ISO 8583, NDC, etc.) and industry trends.
- Familiarity with cloud-based architectures and microservices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Full working rights – Must be an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident.
