Civil Structural Design Engineer Role Overview

This hybrid role involves leading and innovating across brownfield and asset maintenance projects within fuel terminals and petrochemical sectors.

As a key member of the team, you will work closely with engineers and designers to provide safe, reliable, and efficient technical expertise to the business.

The successful candidate will be based in our Brisbane office and will have a strong background in civil and structural engineering design, ensuring top-quality deliverables that align with project and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive design and analysis of tanks and tank foundations to API650 standards.
  • Design piling foundations for various projects.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges, underpinned by thorough technical analyses and adherence to all applicable codes and standards.
  • Utilize software tools like Spacegass, Robot, 12D, and Civil 3D for design and analysis tasks.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and team members, maintaining robust professional relationships.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of engineering design experience, particularly in the resource, oil & gas, or petrochemical industries.
  • Comprehensive experience in the design of piling foundations.
  • Expertise in piled tank foundations, bulk storage tank design, and general structures & foundations, e.g. pipe bridge, pipe support, access platform, wharf pipe support modification.
  • Hold a tertiary qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and RPEQ qualified, would be highly regarded.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
