Marine Educational Guide Job Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Marine Educational Guide to promote our conservation mission, maintain exceptional animal care standards, and develop engaging educational programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and present educational programs for diverse audiences
  • Promote conservation awareness and support initiatives that contribute to the well-being of marine ecosystems
  • Maintain accurate records for quality animal management and welfare
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless operations and achieve shared goals

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in aquarium or zoo settings, preferably in a related role
  • Certification in captive animals management (Captive Animals Cert II or III)
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • First Aid Certificate, CPR, and Bronze Medallion (or willingness to obtain)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as marine biology, education, or environmental science
  • Open Water SCUBA certification

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often standing for long periods, and lifting up to 20kg
  • Regularly walk, stand, bend, climb ladders/steps, carry equipment, and perform tasks in water
