Lead Payroll Officer

Warrikal is a Western Australian owned and operated, multidiscipline engineering company across the mining, marine and resource sectors.
We are seeking a Lead Payroll Officer to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis in West Perth.
About the RoleThe position will coordinate the fortnightly company payroll and ensure our legislative requirements are being met (including payroll tax, PAYG and superannuation contributions).
Working closely with our Human Resources and Recruitment teams, you will oversee high volumes of payroll activity covering both staff and casual workforce personnel with pay runs being processed on a fortnightly basis.
Key Responsibilities- Process fortnightly payruns for both staff and workforce personnel
- Accurately maintain payroll data and records within our current and future payroll systems
- Verify and validate payroll related information received from our project sites
- Proactive engagement with our business unit Managers for payroll related reconciliations
- Provide timely support and responses for our employees when questions or queries are raised regarding pay
- Coordinate and process superannuation, payroll tax, worker compensation and PAYG lodgments
- Provide technical advice relating to payroll legislation, including Australian Taxation and Super Guarantee legislation
- Offer guidance and support in all matters related to payroll processing
We are looking for a previous experience in a senior or lead payroll position with broad exposure to a range of payroll related systems.
You will be able to prioritise tasks and demonstrate good time management skills, particularly relating to strict deadlines.
You will have very strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
You will have an openminded approach to people, with the ability to work with various stakeholders.
You will be able to work autonomously within your discipline, but able to work within a team sharing team tasks when required.
Established skills in Microsoft Office suite of products are essential.
