We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the position of Utility Engineer. This role is ideal for an early to mid-career engineer with a utility mindset who enjoys overseeing projects, working with municipalities, and driving field work forward.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting water and gas utility infrastructure projects throughout Northeastern Ohio. This includes coordinating with local municipalities, overseeing project progress, and managing timelines, budgets, and client expectations.

Essential Functions
  • Oversee and support utility infrastructure projects involving water and gas line replacements, upgrades, and new development support
  • Coordinate and manage the permitting process and municipal procedures
  • Serve as a liaison between clients, municipalities, and internal teams to ensure project continuity
  • Conduct site visits within the region (local travel only) to monitor project progress
  • Collaborate with design teams and review engineering packages (AutoCAD familiarity preferred)
  • Track project timelines, budgets, and client expectations
  • Support basic capital improvement projects related to new housing and commercial developments
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
  • 2–6 years of experience in water, gas, or electric utility projects
  • Familiarity with municipal permitting processes and basic project management principles
  • AutoCAD experience preferred (not a heavy design role)
  • Strong communication skills, especially in client and municipal coordination
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
