Job Description

We are seeking experienced Heavy Plant Technicians to join our site-based maintenance team, responsible for the maintenance of our large open-pit mine, complex ore processing and beneficiation plant, and significant infrastructure and logistics networks.

This position operates on a varied roster that offers a great work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all heavy plant and ancillary equipment is maintained to a high standard, meeting site safety, operational requirements, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance parts coordinator to ensure all high-usage parts are stocked in the warehouse to support servicing and minor repair completion in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the heavy machinery workshop to a high standard, meeting safety, environmental, storage, and disposal requirement standards.
  • Utilize the company's computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to manage and record all maintenance activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the reliability of equipment or cost savings.
  • Monitor and communicate heavy plant downtime events that impact site personnel, safety systems, and environment or plant operations.
  • Coordinate and prioritize repair activities to minimize interruptions to personnel and the processing plant, while ensuring site safety standards are met.
  • Engage with operational teams to promote high reliability of processing equipment and support infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop improvement strategies providing reliability of equipment and cost savings.

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

  • Trade qualification as a diesel mechanic or similar.
  • WA C-Class drivers license.
  • Skid steer ticket, loader ticket, excavator ticket, EWP ticket, forklift ticket (desirable).
  • Demonstrated experience working in a mechanical role in a mineral processing environment.
  • Proven understanding of mining safety standards, including permit systems and risk management tools.
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite and SAP.
  • Australian citizenship or hold a valid visa with permission to work.
  • National police clearance.
