Emergency Department Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team in Melbourne. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our department.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Evidence-Based Nursing Care: Provide compassionate and individualized care to patients, families, and communities, based on current evidence and best practices.
- Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work effectively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and optimal patient outcomes.
- Ensure Patient Safety: Identify and mitigate risks, implement safety protocols, and maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
- Lead and Develop Nursing Teams: Mentor and supervise nursing staff, provide guidance and support, and foster a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Provide Education and Support: Offer education and support to patients, families, and caregivers, promoting health literacy and empowering individuals to manage their health and well-being.
- AHPRA Registration: Maintain current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), demonstrating a commitment to professional excellence and ongoing learning.
- Post Graduate Certification: Hold a Post Graduate Certificate in Emergency/Critical Care Nursing, or equivalent, and demonstrate expertise in emergency nursing practice.
- Experience: Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in Emergency Department or Critical Care nursing, with a strong understanding of emergency nursing principles and practices.
- Working with Children Check: Hold a valid Working with Children Check, as required for this role.
- Quality Patient Care: Demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care, aligned with the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (ACSQHC) National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
- Clinical Expertise: Showcase sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage complex situations.
- Communication Excellence: Exhibit outstanding communication and customer service skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Team Player: Demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration, respect, and open communication.
- Basic Computer Skills: Possess basic computer skills, including proficiency in electronic medical records and other healthcare software.
