Behaviour Support Practitioner: Unlocking Potential and Empowering Lives

We are seeking a skilled Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for delivering person-centered support to individuals who use challenging behaviours.

About the Role
  • You will work closely with individuals, their families, and support networks to develop and implement behaviour support plans that promote independence and quality of life outcomes.
  • Using your expertise in positive behaviour support, you will deliver high-quality services that are informed by research evidence and best-practice principles.
  • You will be part of a collaborative team that values continuous learning and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement behaviour support plans that meet individual needs and goals.
  2. Provide coaching and guidance to individuals and their support teams on PBS strategies and techniques.
  3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to share knowledge and best practices in PBS.
  4. Maintain accurate records and reports related to PBS interventions and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications in a field such as occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech pathology, mental health nursing, or developmental education.
  • Experience working with individuals who use challenging behaviours and their families.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
