Clinical Nurse Specialist Role Overview

This Clinical Nurse Specialist opportunity is based at St Vincent's Public Hospital in Sydney, where you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and leading multidisciplinary teams.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and lead projects related to patient flow and care coordination across different service locations.
  • Monitor patient wait times and estimated discharge dates through electronic patient journey boards, identifying key blockers and areas for improvement.
  • Lead multidisciplinary meetings to ensure timely patient assessments and advise referrers on bed allocation.
  • Work collaboratively with the palliative care team to provide expert nursing care to community clients.
  • Take a leadership role in coordinating nursing and healthcare services, providing expert assessment and triage to optimize health outcomes.

Requirements:
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency.
  • Valid NSW driver's licence.
  • Relevant post-registration qualifications and at least three years' experience working in palliative care.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to integrate theoretical knowledge and clinical skills in daily practice.
