About the Job

Our organization is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Fitter to join its South Australian maintenance team based in Gillman. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in performing preventative maintenance, servicing, and day-to-day repairs on fixed and mobile equipment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in carrying out preventative and breakdown maintenance on fixed plant equipment, including hammermill shredders, conveyor systems, balers, and metal sorters. Additionally, they will be required to work to a daily maintenance plan and complete all relevant documentation.

  • Perform routine checks and maintenance tasks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime
  • Conduct thorough investigations into equipment failures and develop effective solutions to prevent future occurrences
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes as needed
About You
  • You should possess trade qualifications in Fitting and Turning, preferably with experience in conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and gearboxes
  • Arc welding and oxy cutting skills would be highly beneficial
  • A current driver's license is mandatory
  • Prior experience in a similar industrial or metal processing environment would be advantageous
  • You should have strong diagnostic and repair skills, as well as excellent communication skills both written and verbal
