About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Lead to join our team at The Benevolent Society. As a key member of our Impact Data & Evaluation team, you will play a pivotal role in implementing our organisation's Data Governance Framework.

As Data Governance Lead, you will chair the Data Strategy Working Group and collaborate closely with the ID&E and IT Development teams, alongside data champions throughout the business, to embed data governance policies and processes into practice.

Your expertise will drive initiatives to enhance data proficiency across the organisation, enabling team members to use data to evaluate and improve our services.

Representing the ID&E function on the Privacy Steering Committee, you'll identify privacy risks and develop processes that comply with evolving regulations.

In partnership with the Director, ID&E and other senior leaders, you will shape our next Data Strategy, focusing on advancing our data maturity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Chair the Data Strategy Working Group
  • Collaborate with ID&E and IT Development teams to embed data governance policies and processes
  • Drive initiatives to enhance data proficiency across the organisation
  • Represent the ID&E function on the Privacy Steering Committee
  • Shape our next Data Strategy, focusing on advancing our data maturity

Requirements

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience with a professional certification
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, and regulatory compliance
  • Proven track record in implementing data governance policies in customer-facing organisations
  • Experience in training or facilitation, adaptable communication styles for diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change projects and collaborate effectively with stakeholders
