Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Civil Estimator or Senior Civil Estimator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, and the business development team to provide accurate cost estimates and contribute to the success of our project tenders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare Detailed Cost Estimates: Develop and maintain accurate cost estimates for civil infrastructure projects, including roads, earthworks, utilities, subdivisions, and other major works.
  2. Review and Interpret Project Specifications: Analyze and interpret project specifications, designs, and contract documentation to ensure accurate cost estimates.
  3. Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure accurate pricing and material costs.
  4. Conduct Risk Assessments and Value Engineering: Identify and mitigate risks, and optimize project costs through value engineering.
  5. Manage the Tendering Process: Lead the tendering process, including bid preparation, submission, and negotiations.
  6. Maintain Estimating Tools: Update and maintain cost databases and estimating tools to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  7. Participate in Post-Tender Reviews: Participate in post-tender reviews and project handovers to the construction team.
  8. Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Stay current with industry trends, market conditions, and new technologies relevant to civil infrastructure.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Proven experience as a Civil Estimator or Senior Civil Estimator, ideally with a Tier 2 civil contractor.
  2. Strong understanding of civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, subdivisions, and earthworks.
  3. Excellent knowledge of estimating software (e.g., Expert Estimator, Candy, or similar).
  4. Ability to interpret detailed technical drawings and project specifications.
  5. Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  6. High attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  7. Relevant qualifications in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
