Product Design Engineer - Upholstery Category Specialist

Koala is committed to delivering exceptional furniture experiences that meet the needs of a global audience. As a Product Design Engineer - Upholstery Category Specialist, you will play a critical role in driving innovation and efficiency within our upholstery category.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical projects related to upholstery category products, ensuring material selection, construction design, and validation meet production requirements.
  • Design and develop packaging solutions for upholstery category products.
  • Collaborate with designers to resolve part design issues, ensuring optimal user experience while minimizing part complexity and cost.
  • Identify and implement engineering solution improvements within the upholstery category.
  • Ensure product compliance with legal requirements and relevant standards.
  • Work closely with quality teams to develop and implement in-house testing capabilities.
  • Communicate technical agendas with suppliers and other development partners.
  • Support the Furniture Engineer Leader in technical problem-solving and stakeholder communication.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Product Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of CAD software, particularly Solidworks.
  • 3-5 years of experience in design engineering or a similar role, with exposure to high-volume furniture manufacturing.
  • Experience with consumer products and user-centric design principles.
  • Strong curiosity and ambition, with a passion for problem-solving.
  • Team player with a supportive and positive attitude.
