Inventory Management Specialist

This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, including delivering high-level stock control support through efficient execution of receipting, stocktakes, cycle counts, stock adjustments, and credit returns.

The Inventory Management Specialist manages damaged goods, order verification, out-of-stock and aged stock reporting, loss prevention initiatives, and the optimisation of product location accuracy to ensure seamless warehouse operations.

As an Inventory Manager, you will be responsible for managing a small team and ensuring all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met. This involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve customer KPIs and upholding safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate inventory processes, including stock receipting, cycle counts, stocktakes, adjustments, and returns.
  • Perform root cause analysis of stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide regular reporting and maintain accurate records using mainframe systems.
  • Maintain stock integrity and visibility while minimising product loss.
  • Develop and maintain procedures during system downtime and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer KPIs are achieved.
  • Actively contribute to a safe working environment and uphold safety standards.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in inventory control, warehousing or transport environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and experience using RF and warehousing systems.
  • Knowledge of inventory best practices and reconciliation processes.
  • Proven ability to make informed decisions and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A passion for safety, with a proactive approach to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS).
