Senior Structural Engineer Role Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in Perth. This role is a 6 month contract with the possibility of extension.

About the Job

This position involves working as an external corporate resource, assisting site teams with structural integrity programs. The successful candidate will have a strong background in brownfields work within mining processing plants, materials handling or similar.

You will be responsible for identifying coating failures and other degradation mechanisms, and making sound recommendations on when immediate action is required. Familiarity with visual and other inspection methodologies for concrete and steel structures in processing facilities is essential.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, and a proven background in structural integrity assessment on mining or heavy industrial assets. Solid understanding of Australian Standards and site inspection practices is also necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Familiarity with visual and other inspection methodologies for concrete and steel structures in processing facilities
  • Ability to identify coating failures and other degradation mechanisms
  • Capacity to differentiate between insignificant, minor, and major degradation, and make sound recommendations on when immediate action is required
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Strong background in brownfields work within mining processing plants, materials handling or similar
  • Proven background in structural integrity assessment on mining or heavy industrial assets-ideally in gold or mineral processing
  • Solid understanding of Australian Standards and site inspection practices
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Competence in asset integrity inspections and preparation of related reports/documentation
  • Willingness to travel internationally and domestically, typically 1-2 weeks per month on site
Benefits

  • Perth office work: Typical 40 hours p/w, Site based work: 10-12 hours days
