Job Description:

The Data Governance Analyst plays a crucial role in delivering strategic data governance initiatives, ensuring the effective management and protection of data assets.

This is a full-time contract opportunity based in our Head Office, offering a flexible working environment where you can split your time between office and home.

As a Data Governance Analyst, you will be responsible for documenting, classifying, and managing data assets according to company policies.

Key responsibilities include collecting and documenting information about company data assets, analysing data retention requirements, classifying data assets according to their confidentiality, and implementing data quality rules.

You will also support data stewards in monitoring and resolving data issues, facilitate periodic data governance activities such as retention rule reviews, and develop and facilitate data management training.

Relevant qualifications, experience, skills, and capabilities required for this role include tertiary qualifications at a degree level in data management, computer science, risk management, or a related field, CDMP certification and/or DAMA membership, at least 3+ years' experience in a data governance role, and experience in business analysis and data catalog, such as Microsoft Purview or Collibra.

Strong stakeholder management, superior time management, effective verbal and written communication, and strong attention to detail are essential skills for this position.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualifications at a degree level in data management, computer science, risk management, or a related field
  • CDMP certification and/or DAMA membership (highly desirable)
  • At least 3+ years' experience in a data governance role
  • Experience in business analysis and data catalog, such as Microsoft Purview or Collibra
