Job Title: Program Delivery Officer Level 2

">Key Responsibilities and Requirements

Mandatory requirements include a tertiary qualification in psychology, social work, education or behavioural sciences. A relevant professional association membership is highly regarded.

  • Contribute to strategic planning activities to ensure prisoners have timely access to suitable programs and interventions.
  • Collaborate with others in delivering moderate and high-intensity general, violence and sexual offending programs to prisoners.
  • Administer necessary assessments to prisoners and prepare them for offender intervention programs.
  • Evaluate program activities for consistency with evidence-based practice and deliver offender intervention programs according to operational plans.
  • Monitor the progress of prisoners during programs and related activities and provide regular updates.
  • Comply with established management procedures, standards and guidelines.
  • Identify and respond appropriately to potential risks arising from prisoner assessment and management.
  • Stay up-to-date with contemporary offender program research and practices, as well as relevant legislation, policies and procedures in relation to prisoner management.
  • Participate in case management activities as required for prisoners assessed as requiring program participation.
  • Provide timely information to relevant parties regarding each prisoner's participation in programs for case management purposes.
  • Review offender management files and programs to ensure continuity and consistency, ensuring accurate and current records for the Integrated Offender Management system (IOMS) and the Offender Programs Assessment Service (OPAS).
  • Ensure the maintenance, accuracy and appropriateness of records and intervention reports for relevant authorities.
  • Maintain program data, analyse assessment results and record important information.
  • Offer advice to relevant colleagues regarding prisoner program suitability and/or other intervention activities.
  • Support and contribute to case management and sentence management activities for prisoners.
  • Develop staff skills to effectively conduct their duties and identify opportunities for supporting colleagues in the effective delivery of programs.
  • Completion of Agency Supervisor and program facilitator training is mandatory.
  • Provide supervision in accordance with Accountability Standards and QCS supervision model/approach.
  • Ensure the timely provision of program participation reports and advice to courts, parole boards and other agencies regarding prisoners' progress in intervention.
  • Promote the value of offender programs through effective collaboration with internal and external professional networks.
  • Establish productive relationships with service providers and the community generally to enhance community awareness and support for offender programs.
  • Ensure the safety and security of self and others and the security and confidentiality of QCS property and information.
