We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Work and Study Officer at Hope Community Services. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized career development services to young people, adhering to the principles of the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model.
- Manage a caseload of up to 20 active participants, providing ongoing support and guidance to help them achieve their educational and employment goals.
- Collaborate with the headspace clinical team to ensure a comprehensive approach to supporting young people's mental health and wellbeing.
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers, training providers, and community service organizations to create job opportunities for young people.
- Provide education and support to employers on how to best support young people in the workplace.
- Participate in care plan and case review meetings, and contribute to the development of individual employment plans.
- Work closely with the Work and Study Coordinator and Centre Manager to develop and deliver activities that promote skills for the headspace Kalgoorlie Youth Advisory Group.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, including experience in employment services, vocational rehabilitation, or career development.
- Experience working with young people with mental health needs or disabilities.
- Extensive knowledge of issues that impact young people when accessing employment and educational opportunities.
- Understanding of the Individual Placement and Support model.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with employers, young people, and other stakeholders.
