The Incident Monitoring Specialist will be part of a small team responsible for the management and delivery of EPA's Incident Monitoring capability. This team enables EPA to rapidly deploy environmental monitoring equipment during emergencies, pollution response, and other hazardous environments.

  • Support the deployment of equipment by assisting in the maintenance, calibration, servicing, and repairs of EPA's IM equipment and fleet, adhering to emergency response protocols.","
  • Contribute to the delivery of capability uplift for response to emergencies, enabling EPA to provide rapid response monitoring and investigation for air, water, and contaminated land.","
  • Collaborate with the Incident Coordination Unit to ensure monitoring services are available and can be rapidly deployed in response to incidents and emergencies.","
  • Develop, improve, and deliver EPA's Incident Monitoring technical training programs to build staff capability across the EPA and emergency services.","

Requirements:

  • Experience working within Victoria's emergency management arrangements.","
  • A current driver's licence.","
  • Ability to use, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot scientific equipment and general laboratory facilities.","
  • Knowledge of techniques to monitor the environment.","
  • A relevant tertiary degree and/or post-graduate qualifications in applied science/engineering or environmental science or a related science discipline is desirable.","
